About The Position

Trileaf Corporation is a nationwide environmental, architecture, and engineering consulting firm that assists clients with environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and engineering and architectural design. From its headquarters in St. Louis, MO, and multiple branch offices throughout the U.S., Trileaf serves the wireless communications, commercial real estate and financial industries. Trileaf is seeking a full-time Senior Environmental Project Scientist with 3-5 years of field experience conducting environmental due diligence work on telecommunications and commercial real estate projects, primarily including Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (Phase I ESAs) and Phase II ESAs and/or National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) Review Reports and amongst other environmental assessment services. This position is based in our Schaumburg, Illinois office. Candidates will work on-site.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting site visits of wireless communications facilities and commercial properties.
  • Taking detailed field notes, photographs, conducting interviews, and performing regulatory agency file reviews.
  • Reviewing historic topographic maps, Sanborn maps, city directories, aerial photographs, title/lien search reports, environmental databases, regulatory and other documents followed by the interpretation of the compiled information and the drafting of a standardized report in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 (AAI).
  • Conducting site visits of proposed wireless communications facilities.
  • Preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened or endangered species, critical habitat, National Wetland Inventory Maps (NWI), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) etc., as well as correspondence with Tribal, federal, state, and local agencies in accordance with FCC Rules Title 47 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 1, Subpart I, rule sections 1.1301 to 1.1319.
  • Interpret the complied information and prepare a NEPA report.
  • Travel to project location, take detailed notes and photographs of site (1-2 days per week)
  • Conducting interviews, in person, via email, and over the phone; ordering & analyzing government database records, performing regulatory agency file reviews; reviewing historical data (including topographic maps, Sanborn fire insurance maps, city directories, and aerial photographs); drafting a standardized report using information from these various sources.
  • Perform QA/QC to the satisfaction of both management and clients and completing requested revisions & submitting report within pre-established timelines.
  • Conduct field work to collect samples of potentially contaminated subsurface media (soil, groundwater, and soil vapor) and/or indoor air and then compare analytical contaminant data collected to applicable regulatory standards.
  • Conduct a preliminary screening of listed and/or proposed threatened and endangered species and critical habitats and review publicly available databases such as the National Wetlands Inventory and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Flood Insurance Rate Maps.
