The Sr Project Manager/Sales Engineer is a key customer‑facing role within the Custom Engineering U.S. organization, serving as a trusted technical and commercial partner on complex opportunities. This role works closely with customers to understand process and facility requirements and translate those needs into tailored, end‑to-end solutions. By combining technical expertise with consultative engagement, the Principal Engineer supports turn‑key projects from early concept through solution definition, helping drive successful commercial outcomes. This position reports to the Sr Manager, Project Management and is part of the Custom Engineering Team located in Shrewsbury, MA, and will be an on-site role. What you will do: Support Sales with customer meetings to discuss Cytiva technologies and capabilities, in the context of the customers process and facility requirements. Perform technical review of initial customer enquiry (RFP, URS, etc.) Develop a turn-key, integrated technical solution for the customers’ process Provide technical support to Project Management and Engineering team in the development of proposals for the delivery of turn-key integrated solution Maintain agreed to timelines for deliverables in support of the sales opportunity

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Prefer 5+ years experience in engineering, operations, process development, or project management within the life sciences industry, with a focus on process engineering disciplines (process development, design, commissioning, and validation)
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite; working knowledge of project management software (Basecamp, MS Project)
  • Experience in performing equipment testing (FAT, SAT, commissioning, and qualification)
  • Travel upwards 25% - international and domestic

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of industrial experience (biotechnology and pharma) in engineering or manufacturing operations
  • Practical application of pharmaceutical / biologics regulations.

  • The annual salary range for this role is $110,000 - $120,000.
  • This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.
  • This range may be modified in the future.
  • This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
