About The Position

The Senior Project Manager leads teams to deliver projects that span across one or more units, in furtherance of institutional healthcare goals and objectives. Moreover, the incumbent manages resources, schedules, and financials for assigned healthcare units. The Senior Project Manager manages project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required

Responsibilities

  • Provides on-site leadership for project team by motivating team members to meet project goals.
  • Oversees multiple related projects to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly in support of institutional objectives.
  • Prepares reports regarding project status, costs, and activities.
  • Establishes practices, policies, and partnerships to effectively carry out functions.
  • Prepares estimates and detailed project plans for all phases.
  • Procures adequate resources to achieve project objectives in established timeframe.
  • Monitors staff performance and completes performance reviews.
  • Drives feasibility studies and vendor selections.
  • Manages ongoing quality control and participates in quality issue resolution.
  • Ensures that projects and programs are proceeding according to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to reduce charge lag, improve documentation accuracy, and streamline revenue capture processes.
  • Analyze billing workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement standardized procedures to reduce denials and prevent revenue leakage.
  • Partner with coding, billing, and finance teams to ensure timely resolution of systemic issues impacting reimbursement.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards tracking key revenue cycle metrics.
  • Ensure billing and operational processes adhere to UHealth requirements.
  • Coordinate compliance audits, follow up on findings, and implement corrective action plans.
  • Serve as the operational lead for resolving IT issues affecting billing, scheduling, clinical documentation, and reporting.
  • Coordinate with IT teams to prioritize, escalate, and resolve system defects, configuration needs, and workflow barriers.
  • Build strong working relationships across departments to enhance collaboration and problem-solving.
  • Conduct workflow assessments and develop recommendations to eliminate redundancies and streamline operations.
  • Implement standardized procedures and documentation to promote consistency across operational units.
  • Measure and track improvements through key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for leadership regarding operational-technological initiatives.
  • Facilitate training sessions, workshops, and communications related to process or system changes.
  • Maintain transparent communication channels to ensure stakeholders are aware of potential impacts and upcoming changes.
