About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the role are the direct management of the most complex network fiber projects and oversight of all fiber maintenance in market.

Requirements

  • Expert in both fiber optic network maintenance and emergency restoration processes.
  • Expert level understanding of communications cabling types.
  • Must have extensive experience in maintaining fiber-optic deployments of outside plant networks.
  • Deep familiarity with the materials, manufacturers, and equipment related to communications cabling products, fiber optic cable.
  • Strong ability to accurately estimate labor effort and material requirements.
  • Excellent familiarity with fiber splicing methods, splicing and testing equipment, and all related documentation standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, focused on customer service.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have 4 years familiarity with all types of outside plant fiber engineering and experience managing large fiber networks.
  • PMP or equivalent certification and minimum 5+ years managing Fiber Infrastructure Deployment

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Visio, Bluebeam Revu, or Revit a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary project lead responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery of ISP fiber infrastructure for the Customer Data Center build.
  • Act as the main point of contact between internal teams and the Customer, maintaining strong communication and partnership with Customer stakeholders.
  • Provide regular project status updates including schedule progress, milestones, risks, and overall build health to both internal leadership and the Customer.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the master project schedule, ensuring all phases of the fiber infrastructure build are properly planned, tracked, and executed.
  • Coordinate daily and weekly work activities across engineering, construction, and vendor teams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Conduct ongoing risk identification, analysis, and mitigation planning to proactively address issues that may impact schedule, cost, or delivery.
  • Plan and manage workforce requirements, including field resources, subcontractors, and headcount forecasting needed to meet build timelines.
  • Oversee financial performance of the project including budget tracking, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Manage procurement processes including the creation, tracking, and approval of Purchase Orders (POs) for materials, equipment, and subcontracted services.
  • Prepare, review, and manage Change Orders to address scope adjustments, schedule impacts, or Customer-requested modifications.
  • Ensure all project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements are maintained in accordance with corporate and Customer standards.
  • Facilitate coordination meetings with internal teams, contractors, and Customer representatives to ensure transparency and alignment.
  • Monitor quality, safety, and performance standards across all project activities.
  • Apply established project management methodologies and best practices aligned with the Project Management Institute PMP framework.
  • Drive issue resolution and decision-making to keep the fiber infrastructure build on schedule and within budget.
