We are currently seeking an Sr. Project Manager - GIS to join our Jacksonville office. What You’ll Do: The Sr. Project Manager – GIS will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex geospatial projects supporting both federal and non-federal clients. This role blends deep technical GIS expertise with project leadership, client engagement, and team development. You will oversee the creation, management, and analysis of geospatial data and GIS databases while ensuring compliance with client specifications, federal standards, and internal quality requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in GIS project delivery, federal geospatial programs, and mentoring technical teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Urban Planning, or a related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive GIS experience, including project leadership or management responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple GIS projects concurrently while leading technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of federal geospatial standards, data models, and programs, such as SDSFIE, SDE, FIAR, Navy Data Collection Guide, iNFADS, Common Installation Picture (CIP), and GeoReadiness initiatives.
  • Advanced proficiency with ArcGIS and related GIS software platforms.
  • Broad technical understanding of GIS, cartography, imagery analysis, photogrammetry, surveying, and civil engineering applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex GIS concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience delivering GIS services for federal clients (e.g., Department of Defense, NAVFAC, USACE) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage GIS projects from initiation through delivery, ensuring scope, schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients on GIS-related projects, providing technical guidance and project status updates.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and governance of spatial databases, including attribution, spatial integrity, and metadata.
  • Ensure geospatial products comply with applicable federal, state, and client specifications and standards.
  • Perform and oversee spatial and tabular data editing, analysis, and processing using ArcGIS and related platforms.
  • Develop and implement GIS workflows, models, and analytical tools using raster and vector data.
  • Establish and manage complex relational database joins and queries.
  • Collaborate with Technical Leads to develop, update, and enforce GIS standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Identify opportunities to improve GIS processes, tools, and methodologies across projects.
  • Mentor and train GIS staff, providing technical leadership and professional development support.
  • Produce high-quality maps, visualizations, and tabular outputs for reports, presentations, and client deliverables.
  • Support project workshops and meetings, including live demonstrations of GIS data and analysis for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Oversee or support GPS field data collection efforts as required.
  • Research, evaluate, and recommend specialized GIS software and tools to support project needs.
