About The Position

James Fisher Technologies (JFT) is a reputable provider of remote solutions, specialty engineering, and technical services for applications within hazardous environments. JFT is growing and looking for Sr. Project Engineers (ME IV) to join our team in Loveland, CO. JFT offers some work from home flexibility, but candidates must be within commuting distance to the office. The anticipated closing date for this posting is 12/31/25 and applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The Sr. Project Engineer - ME IV provides team leadership and supervises the development of engineering solutions throughout the project life cycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in mechanical engineering with at least 10 years of design experience and 3 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Professional Engineer or working towards achieving.
  • Knowledge of drawing principles and standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, as well as familiarity with EFD'S, P&ID's and MFD's.
  • Working knowledge of complex mechanical equipment and fabrications, manufacturing techniques, materials and processes.
  • Skilled in both 2D (AutoCAD) and 3D design (Inventor and Vault system/SolidWorks) software packages.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 and NQA-1 Quality Assurance Programs and EH&S legislation, as well as commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Must be able to work on a computer (standing or sitting) for most of the day and use standard office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with team members, customers, and vendors is essential.
  • Must be U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents and all offers of employment will be contingent on satisfying applicable licensing, training, and other requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Nuclear or high hazardous remote special purpose machinery design experience and knowledge of nuclear design procedures a plus.
  • Experience with calculations (FEA, stress/fatigue/vibration analysis) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of design engineers, driving innovative solutions for hazardous environments.
  • Responsible for all technical aspects of design, analysis, manufacturing, and project delivery.
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers, ensuring engineering concepts are developed into practical solutions with minimal oversight.
  • Guide the team in producing precise manufacturing drawings incorporating limits and fits, welding symbols, geometric tolerances, and surface finishes.
  • Review and approve detailed part and assembly drawings, as well as full engineering calculations, assuring accuracy.
  • Produce, review, and validate technical reports and documents to align with contract and quality requirements.
  • Select components and systems based on calculations and hands-on experience while driving cost-effective innovations to streamline design processes.
  • Manage change control, oversee contract scope variations, and work closely with other engineering disciplines within an integrated design team.
  • Mentor engineers on industry standards, best practices, and techniques.
  • Collaborate with other project engineering leads and managers, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with established procedures.
  • Contribute valuable insights to support business development and new project quotations.
