About The Position

Bird Electric, a Black & Veatch company, is a U.S. self-perform electrical construction services provider with a national reach in emergency power restoration. Bird Electric delivers grid solutions and operates in adjacent distributed infrastructure markets including renewables, electric vehicle (EV) charging, and connectivity.

This position is responsible for invoicing of assigned projects and ensures contract terms are followed regarding correct billing rates and schedules. Responsible for intermediate to moderately complex level billings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience.
• Typically 2+ years' related experience.
• All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Generates, audits and distributes draft invoices and/or credit memos to Project Management for review based on understanding of contract.
• Obtains appropriate approval and distributes accordingly.
• Ensures billing rates or billing schedules are correctly attached to projects & match contract terms.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities for billings owned.
• Ensures billing rates or billing schedules are correctly attached to projects and match contract terms
• Researches past due invoices and collaborates with project teams on collection activities.
• Researches and responds to project invoicing related questions as requested.
• Complexity and volume includes at least one of the following: joint ventures, multiple contracts, multiple task orders, and/or purchase orders.
• Coordinates research and analysis activities related to invoicing as required in support of client requests and the annual audit activities
• May interact directly with auditors as necessary
• Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvement
• Primary internal clients are Global Billing Team billers, supervisors and management; project managers; project controls; project accounting.
