About The Position

Working at Target means helping all families discover the joy of everyday life. We bring that vision to life through our values and culture. Learn more about Target here. Target Global Supply Chain and Logistics is evolving at an incredible pace. We are constantly reimagining how we get the right product to the right guest even better, faster and more cost effectively than before. We are becoming more intelligent, automated, and algorithmic in our decision-making, so that no matter how guests shop—in stores or on Target.com—we deliver the convenience and immediate gratification they demand and deserve. We are on a mission to win decisively over any competitor, with a seamless and superior guest service experience unlike any they can offer. Our teams work with the agility our mission requires, and we constantly come together to implement new processes in record time. So we’re looking for exceptional people who are proactive, creative, independent, innovative, risk-savvy and comfortable working in varying degrees of ambiguity. Are you a critical thinker who seeks the root cause and can analyze both qualitatively and quantitatively? Are you a creative problem-solver who simplifies problems, quickly identifies solutions, commits to a plan and then positively influences others to execute it? If so, you will have success on one of our dynamic teams. A role in Indirect and Reverse Supply Chain means managing the inbound throughput and placement of the indirect materials that are required to operate all Target stores and distribution centers. This also includes the business management and logistics operations for guest returns. Reverse and Returns include the backward movement of all goods including logistics, secondary market sales, and damaged/defective product management. Indirect includes order execution and movement, warehousing/storage, operations such as facility and 3PL management and inventory management including demand management and forecasting. As a Sr. Program Manager, Reverse and Recommerce, you will be responsible for maximizing the value Target is able to generate from end-of-life merchandise that is marked out of stock or collected from our Guests. You will oversee and drive end-market strategy for both pre- and post-consumer items, ensuring they are directed responsibly and profitably to the most appropriate disposition channel. Develop and continuously improve responsible end markets for hard-to-recycle categories to maximize recovery value for Target and achieve diversion rate goals. Develop the vendor ecosystem strategy across collectors/haulers, aggregators, sorters, pre-processors, recyclers, and end-users—selecting partners that improve both diversion and financial return. Analyze assortment strategy at a category and retail level and adjust performance to drive optimal recovery rates by channel. Own monthly business performance, driving monthly performance to goal and developing action plans to achieve financial & diversion performance. Partner closely with Reverse Operations and Vendors to support daily business operations. Identifying emerging disposition opportunities by developing business requirements and drive the strategy for continuous improvement across existing nodes. Core responsibilities are described within this job description. Job duties may change at any time due to business needs.
