About The Position

MakeWay is looking for a Sr. Program Engagement Specialist to support communications and engagement strategies, content creation, and animation of program networks for two learning programs that are expanding in 2026: Innoweave is a program that supports teams from social purpose organizations to strengthen their skills in areas like strategic clarity, collaboration, impact measurement, and social enterprise development, so they can better achieve impact for their communities. Participants partner with Innoweave and one or more coaches from our national network to co-design learning pathways and receive sponsored coaching support to help them achieve their goals. Restorative People Practices is a pilot program aimed at supporting leaders to integrate restorative approaches into HR practices that center equity and wellbeing for workers within the social purpose sector. Participants engage in live learning sessions, receive dedicated coaching, and participate in peer networks for learning and connection. This Sr. Program Engagement Specialist will work closely with other program staff, MakeWay’s Communications team, delivery partners, and participants to translate strategy into clear communications outputs and engagement activities. As a member of a collaborative delivery team, this position also contributes to shared program responsibilities and participant-facing support.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in program engagement, communications, or related roles
  • Strong writing and editing skills with an ability to tailor messaging for a variety of audiences
  • Experience in community animation and/or network engagement
  • Proficiency with communications tools such as newsletters, social media platforms and content calendars, virtual collaboration and meeting tools, graphic design applications
  • Experience working in the charitable, non-profit, or social purpose sector, and strong understanding of the contexts in which social purpose leaders and organizations operate
  • Skilled Communicator: You excel at distilling complex information into clear and engaging content across a variety of mediums, for a variety of audiences.
  • Collaborative: You work effectively across teams, partnering to meet shared objectives, seek opportunities to collaborate and learn across programs and roles.
  • Equity-minded: You’re comfortable engaging with questions related to power, identity, and lived experience, and center equity in your work.
  • Learning Focused: You value reflection and iteration, and see learning as something that emerges through practice, experience, and dialogue. You enjoy noticing patterns, surfacing insights, and supporting shared learning over time.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in learning and development, adult education, and/or facilitation
  • Experience supporting peer learning networks
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in French, and produce French content for external audiences
  • Familiarity with coaching relationships, either as a coach or participant

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of communications plans to support program messaging, promotion, and delivery, and demonstrate impact
  • Develop a suite of collateral materials to convey key program information to external audiences in a clear and engaging way
  • Develop ongoing program content for key communications channels, such as newsletters, social media, and blogs, in alignment with organization-wide communications strategies.
  • Work with internal and program stakeholders to facilitate the development of case studies.
  • Curate and share external resources of interest to program audiences through communications channels and other tools such as resource libraries.
  • Collaborate with MakeWay’s Communications team to align program messaging and communications with broader organizational messaging, voice, and tone.
  • Track engagement metrics and support continuous improvement of communications approaches
  • Lead the development and execution of engagement plans for each learning program, with the goals of deepening relationships between MakeWay and program stakeholders, and facilitating connections amongst participants, coaches and other delivery partners, and program networks.
  • Lead a re-engagement campaign with Innoweave coaches, inviting renewed partnerships aligned with Innoweave’s evolving program offerings.
  • Provide coordination for participant and practitioner networks and Community of Practice (CoP) structures, including supporting convening, connection, communication, and knowledge exchange activities.
  • In collaboration with other program staff, act as a supportive and responsive point of contact for partners, coaches and participants throughout their involvement with the program
  • Support program coordination, milestone tracking, and post-program feedback and impact measurement activities for participant groups
