About The Position

POSITION OVERVIEW: The Sr. Production Planner I is a senior-level planning professional responsible for ensuring on-time delivery of product by proactively managing production schedules, material availability, and MRP-driven demand. This role is expected to identify and mitigate risks, mentor planners, and serve as an ERP and planning subject matter expert. COMPANY OVERVIEW: Join a team driven to excel in all that we do! Requirements

  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive experience in production planning or manufacturing planning.
  • Demonstrated experience operating as a senior or lead planner in a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of managing schedule risk, material constraints, and system-driven planning logic.
  • Committed to excellence and high standards.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Working knowledge of data collection systems, proficient with data analysis and evaluation
  • Proficient with PC applications, (MS Project, Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience working in a network environment.
  • Ability to function under high stress environment.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to take input from multiple sources and prioritize own work effectively.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with superiors and peers as well as with individuals both inside and outside the company.

  • Four-year technical degree or six years of equivalent work experience
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience (minimum six years).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with JIT, MRP, CRP, Lean (or other waste elimination processes), ISO 9000 (or other structures QMS) desired
  • APICS CPIM certification a plus
  • Spanish language skills a plus
  • Experience with MS Project and/or Great Plains desired

Responsibilities

  • Plan, release, and manage production orders independently.
  • Verify drawings, BOMs, routings, and material availability.
  • Ensure material staging prior to manufacturing release.
  • Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed.
  • Expedite materials and resolve constraints.
  • Analyze MRP outputs for material and schedule risks.
  • Identify and mitigate shortages and capacity constraints.
  • Validate system data against actual schedules.
  • Partner with Scheduling and cross-functional teams Advanced ERP proficiency and planning logic expertise
  • Train and coach planners on ERP navigation and MRP logic
  • Support system improvements and data integrity.
  • Liaison between Production, Engineering, Purchasing, warehousing, and PMs
  • Support shop leadership with shortages and prioritization.
  • Communicate risks and recovery plans clearly.
  • Train and guide junior planners.
  • Review planner outputs for accuracy and compliance.
  • Reinforce standard planning processes.
  • Improve planning processes and material flow.
  • Support SOP development and CI initiatives.
