About The Position

American Specialty Health Incorporated is seeking a Sr. Product Owner I to join our Product Ownership department. This position will work closely with stakeholders throughout the organization and beyond in order to create, groom and prioritize a team backlog. Salary Range American Specialty Health complies with state and federal wage and hour laws and compensation depends upon candidate’s qualifications, education, skill set, years of experience, and internal equity. $89.300 to $115,000 Full-Time Annual Salary Range. Remote Worker Considerations: Remote Worker Guidelines: This position will be trained remotely and must be able to work from home (WFH) in a designated work area with company-provided technology equipment. This WFH position requires you have a stable connection to your Internet Service Provider with the ability to participate by video in online meetings over a reliable and consistent network. The internet connection must have a consistent 50 down/10 up Mbps minimum internet speed. 100 down/20 up is recommended to support higher quality video meetings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Business, or equivalent experience. If equivalent experience, high school diploma required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst required.
Outstanding communication, presentation and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles.
Creating, prioritizing and accepting user stories.
Experience writing clear and concise acceptance criteria, preferably in Gherkin format.
Identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measure component/feature value.
Collaborate with PMs and stakeholders to define and measure goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value.
Ability to work as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, multi-disciplinary team building enterprise level software.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Effective ability to manage projects, remove barriers, monitor milestones and accomplish deliverables.
Strong problem solver with ability to motivate and lead the scrum team to an appropriate solution and timeline.
Able to depict complex ideas, issues and designs to varied technical and non-technical audiences.
Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Ability to display excellent customer service to meet the needs and expectations of both internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

Work with other departments and product teams to assess, initiate, refine and drive appropriate functional solutions.
Gather requirements from key stakeholders and break those down into user stories for your scrum team to develop.
Be present in all scrum ceremonies as well as available to scrum team
Ensure that the team always has an adequate amount of groomed user stories ready for development.
Provide backlog management, iteration planning, and elaboration of the user stories.
Write clear and concise acceptance criteria for each user story.
Plan and prioritize product backlog and development of the product.
Identify, manage and prioritize cross team priorities.
Contribute to final approval and acceptance testing.
Collaborate with leadership, product managers and internal stakeholders to determine product priorities and secure strategic buy-in to build, buy and/or partner to advance the product strategy.
Effectively communicate the product strategy to key stakeholders and team members.
Play an active role in mitigating non-technical impediments impacting successful team completion of Release/Sprint Goals.
Partner across different teams and departments as needed to coordinate delivery plans, testing, training and support.
Partner closely with engineering, user experience, customer experience strategy, and design teams to ensure quality and consistency of experience.
Incorporate stakeholder input into product roadmap while effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.
Present to internal stakeholders as the feature expert with in-depth understanding of the business and feature.
Participate and/or facilitate inception workshops in cross functional group settings.
Coordinate trouble shooting and analysis of issues from internal and external users and solutions all the way through resolution.
Utilize user-centric thinking, discovery and research, rapid iteration, and lean practices to quickly validate backlog assumptions.
Ensure component backlog represents a plan for increasing customer value over time through market differentiation.
