About The Position

The Senior Procurement Strategist is an individual contributor responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies that align with business objectives and drive cost savings. This role involves optimizing category spend, serving as a strategic advisor to business units, managing vendor relationships and contract negotiations, and ensuring adherence to internal processes and performance metrics. Success in this position requires strong analytical thinking, leadership, procurement expertise, and the ability to build effective relationships across the organization.

Requirements

  • Utilizes sourcing and procurement systems to manage purchasing activities.
  • Interprets financial data to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Identifies and mitigates procurement-related risks in alignment with policies.
  • Extracts insights from data to inform procurement strategies and performance metrics.
  • Plans and executes procurement initiatives on time and within scope.
  • Persuades stakeholders and drives alignment across functions.
  • Follows and improves procurement processes and procedures for efficiency.
  • Prioritizes tasks effectively to meet deadlines and business needs.
  • Understands organizational strategy and how procurement impacts the bottom line.
  • Delivers high-quality service and solutions tailored to internal stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience (preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree of Business Administration (preferred)
  • Experience in consumer or commercial payments industry (preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma certification (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for assigned and complex categories, incorporating innovative sourcing approaches and industry best practices.
  • Support Supplier Diversity goals through inclusive sourcing initiatives.
  • Act as the primary Procurement contact for senior Line of Business leaders, building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with Legal, Risk, and Third-Party Management teams to ensure alignment and compliance.
  • Lead vendor negotiations, manage contract execution and renewals, and ensure adherence to internal policies, escalating issues as needed.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to enhance procurement practices and tools.
  • Participate in cross-functional project teams and support broader business initiatives.
