About The Position

deciBel Research seeks a Senior DevSecOps engineer with eight years' experience for the GMD Weapon System (GWS) Network and Infrastructure team on the Ground-based Midcourse Defense(GMD) program. Candidates must be able to work on an agile team and support an in-person, closed-area work environment. The successful candidate can communicate effectively, and is eager to expand their knowledge to continually improve.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree and 6 years of related experience, or PhD with 4 years of experience.
  • A DOD 8140 IAT Level II certification (ex: Security + CE)
  • Strong systems administrator experience in Windows and Linux
  • Experience working with cloud technologies and platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud
  • Proficiency with DevSecOps practices, approaches, requirements, and iteration plans for a large-scale classified government system
  • Proficiency in agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services
  • Proficiency with the Atlassian tool suite: JIRA, Confluence, GitLab/GitHub, Jenkins, and Nexus repositories
  • Experience working with airgap environments, classified cloud environments, and government customer networks
  • Experience with ATO's, cybersecurity concepts and posture, and complex implementation of security configurations in cloud networks
  • Experience with security coding standard best practices, static and dynamic scanning tools, such as SonarQube, Fortify, Coverity
  • Proficiency with configuring and maintaining DevSecOps Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline tools including best practices, automated builds and tests, quality gates, software quality, and CI tools such as Jenkins
  • Proficiency with deploying and maintaining applications on Kubernetes clusters
  • Proficiency in briefing technical presentations to a government customer
  • Experience leading complex diagnostics and implementations to quickly address issues and minimize impact to technical programs
  • Experience with reverse engineering and troubleshooting of complex network architectures
  • Ability to write and review software code (Java, Python, etc.)
  • Applicant selected must have an active Secret security clearance.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • Extensive experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or other cloud orchestration technologies
  • Comprehensive experience with Helm Charts and Ansible Technologies
  • Comprehensive experience with configuration management tools, i.e., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, others
  • Extensive experience with branching strategies, gated commits and source-controlled management
  • Comprehensive experience in programming and scripting experience in a UNIX environment (C++, Perl, Python, Bash, Ruby, Shell, Scripts)
  • Extensive programming and scripting experience in a Windows environment (PowerShell, etc.)
  • Comprehensive experience with PaaS (Platform as a Service) infrastructure
  • Comprehensive experience with software development (i.e., Java/JavaScript, C++, C#, or any modern object-oriented language) and its life cycles
