About The Position

We're seeking an experienced Senior DevSecOps Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you'll bridge development, security, and operations, ensuring our cloud-based systems are robust, scalable, and secure. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain infrastructure that supports our microservices architecture. The ideal candidate is a skilled coder with a strong DevOps mindset, eager to leverage AI tools and modern practices to accelerate innovation. This is a full-time and on-site position in Fishers IN, requiring at least 5 years of professional experience.

Requirements

7+ years in software engineering with a strong focus on cloud platform engineering and DevOps.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 5 years of professional experience in DevSecOps, DevOps, or a similar role.
Proven expertise in cloud architectures
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Gitlab, Azure DevOps)
Proficiency in IaC tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
Strong experience scaling microservices in production environments.
In-depth knowledge of containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration with Kubernetes.
Familiarity with secrets management tools (e.g., HashiCorp Vault, Azure Key Vault).
Experience with event-driven architectures, including brokers and schema management (e.g., Avro, Protobuf).
Experience building in house developer tool chains and cli tools using bash scripts and integrations .
Detailed understanding of security principles, firewalls, cloud networking (e.g., VPCs, subnets, NSGs), and best practices for secure deployments.
Hands-on experience with OpenTelemetry (OTel) for observability.
Strong coding skills in languages like Python, Rust, Typescript, or similar, with a passion for building and supporting applications.
Ability to thrive in cross-functional teams, communicating effectively with developers, product managers, security experts, and stakeholders.
Enthusiasm for AI and emerging tools, with willingness to adopt agentic workflows, and MCP to enhance productivity.

Nice To Haves

Experience in startup environments or high-growth tech companies.
Hands-on experience in Azure (certifications like AZ-500 or AZ-400 a plus).
Hands-on experience with observability pipelines such as OpenTelemetry (OTel) for monitoring, logging, and tracing. Prometheus, Grafana, Snowflake
Some experience with IoT applications and telemetry heavy applications
Familiarity with compliance standards (e.g., SOC 2, GDPR).
Contributions to open-source projects or a portfolio demonstrating relevant work.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and manage secure cloud architectures. Implement networking, firewalls, and compliance best practices.
Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible to automate provisioning and configuration management.
Scale complex microservice architectures, optimizing for performance, reliability, security and cost-efficiency.
Containerize applications and orchestrate deployments using Kubernetes, ensuring seamless integration and management.
Implement secrets management solutions to safeguard sensitive data across environments.
Build and maintain event-based architectures, including message brokers (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ) and handling complex schemas for asynchronous communication.
Design and scale heavy throughput application layers such as: web sockets, video streaming, machine learning and tele-ops use cases
Collaborate with development teams to code and deploy applications, providing DevOps support while embedding security throughout the SDLC.
Champion AI-forward practices by incorporating tools like Claude for code generation, agentic workflows for automation, and MCP integrations to streamline operations.
Conduct security audits, vulnerability assessments, and implement remediation strategies to maintain a strong security posture.
Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous improvement in DevSecOps practices.
Expect to travel up to 5 days per month.
