About The Position

The Department of Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology has an exciting opportunity for a Sr. Practice Manager to work on the UHealth Campus. The Senior Practice Manager directs and maintains all aspects of the daily activities of the practice for its successful operation, which includes the efficient and timely scheduling of patients for clinics and surgeries. Moreover, the Senior Practice Manager develops, trains, coordinates, and recruits personnel for the practice to ensure that all offices are properly staffed and operational. Additionally, the incumbent supervises scheduling support staff for physicians to ensure patient access and satisfaction, and effective and efficient coordination of out-patient appointments. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
  • Ability to establish department goals and objectives that support the strategic plan.
  • Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
  • Ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships.
  • Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares the inpatient schedule for both UHealth Tower and Jackson Memorial Hospital.
  • Creates and enters the on-call schedule for Faculty and Fellows.
  • Creates and maintains ambulatory templates for all Medical Oncology providers.
  • Regularly meets with Satellite site leaders regarding Medical Oncology faculty with satellite practices.
  • Assists with the maintenance of emergency preparedness plans.
  • Oversee clinical and faculty support administrative assistants for the Division of Medical Oncology.
  • Responsible for the onboarding/offboarding of faculty, staff physicians and advanced practice providers.
  • Review requisitions submitted and ensure they are in alignment with budget.
  • Monitor/approve time off request for providers and any clinic closure/add on sessions associated to the request.
  • Responsible for accurate clinical deployment of providers based on cFTE.
  • Review templates to ensure they are being optimized based on utilization rate and fill rate.
