Keeping healthcare healthy can be as fun as it is rewarding We are seeking a Sr Platform Engineering, Architect to serve as the technical leader for our Platform Engineering organization. In this high-impact individual contributor role, you will own the long-term technical vision for our internal developer platform, ensuring initiatives, architectures, and roadmaps remain tightly aligned with the strategic direction of Platform Engineering leadership. You will maintain strong strategic alignment with enterprise architecture functions, harmonizing platform decisions with broader architectural principles, standards, and technology strategy. You will lead through deep technical expertise, influence, and cross-organizational partnership—driving faster, safer, and enterprise software delivery across CHG Healthcare and its portfolio.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of hands-on software engineering experience, in platform, infrastructure, developer enablement, or enterprise architecture-related functions.
  • Deep expertise in modern cloud platforms (AWS and Azure), Kubernetes, CI/CD, observability, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Proven ability to define and deliver technical vision for large-scale internal platforms serving hundreds of engineers.
  • Exceptional skill in leading through influence, partnering, and driving alignment across diverse teams and complex organizations.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication; able to clearly explain complex technical topics to technical and executive audiences.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as Staff, Principal, or Distinguished Engineer in platform/developer experience or enterprise architecture role.
  • Contributions to open-source platform tools or major internal platform transformations.
  • Proven success building Internal Developer Platforms (IDPs) or paved roads that significantly increased engineering productivity.
  • Experience with metrics-driven platform evaluation (DORA, DevEx, SLO/SLI, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Platform Engineering leadership to define and execute a clear technical vision, multi-year roadmap, and architectural principles for the platform.
  • Ensure platform architecture, technology choices, and patterns align with enterprise-wide architectural standards and direction.
  • Drive technical automation and adoption of standards, patterns, tools, and golden paths across platform teams, product teams, and stakeholders.
  • Lead high-impact, cross-cutting initiatives that advance developer experience, scalability, observability, security, and operational excellence.
  • Act as the senior technical authority in platform decisions, architecture reviews, and trade-off discussions, balancing short-term delivery with long-term sustainability.
  • Champion and evolve platform standards, best practices, and reference architectures that enable teams to build and operate services efficiently.
  • Identify technical debt, systemic gaps, and strategic opportunities; drive high-leverage improvements that measurably improve developer velocity, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Mentor senior, staff, and tech lead engineers through design reviews, pair programming, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Represent the platform technical vision in executive briefings, engineering forums, architecture governance, and cross-functional planning.
  • Stay current with trends in platform engineering, cloud-native technologies, IDPs, developer productivity, and enterprise architecture.
