We provide crucial technology services such as Global Networking, Cloud, End User Computing, and IT Service Management. Our aim is to consistently provide an engaging, important, and straightforward experience for our customers. The Senior Cloud Security Architect role belongs to the Cloud Infrastructure and Operations within Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations. Working alongside cloud security engineering and product roles, this position reports into the Director of Cloud Security and delivers specialized expertise for present and upcoming planning, technical frameworks, models, and protocols. It engages closely with Cloud Platform Engineering teams (Operations, SRE, DevOps), Cloud Enablement Office as well as Enterprise Architecture and Engineering groups, to uphold a cohesive enterprise technology strategy and direction. This is an excellent opportunity for an expert technology leader to help transform infrastructure and service management products. The work will affect the entire McDonald’s environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to think strategically and relate architectural decisions/recommendations to business needs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud solution frameworks across one or more major cloud service providers (AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • Proven understanding of implementing secure architectures.
  • Extensive experience with several or all of these cloud concepts: Infrastructure provided on demand, Serverless Architecture, Container Architecture, Platform offerings, Storage, Infrastructure as Code, and Identity and Access Management.
  • Advanced technical understanding in five or more and considerable technical knowledge in eight of the following ten domains:
  • Cryptography, encryption, and key management
  • Data protection and security
  • Governance and risk management
  • Identity, access and permissions
  • Infrastructure security
  • Logging and monitoring
  • Security event and incident response
  • Threat and vulnerability management
  • Application and interface security
  • DevOps's pipeline governance and security
  • Advanced cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) or readiness to acquire them within the first 12 months.
  • A minimum of 12 years in technical product management or equivalent experience is required with a Bachelor’s degree. Alternatively, at least 8 years of proven experience with a Master’s degree or comparable experience is acceptable.
  • Experience leading technical teams that handle a strategically important product and/or a suite of products.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience suggesting/recommending driven and innovative technical options, acquiring client agreement and delivering on commitments.
  • Comfortable communicating sophisticated, technical topics in an actionable manner to senior leadership.
  • 3+ years as an engineer or architect working with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, and GCP with preference for Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience with Agile methods, automation, and tools. Continuous Integration & Continuous Deployment tools and processes.
  • Excellent client-facing written and oral communications.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Professional credentials associated with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in architecture and build discussions that produce requirements.
  • Interpret requirements and code in a manner that encourages re-use and maintainability.
  • Interpret secure framework requirements and translate into significant cloud-based requirements that meet or exceed company policy and standards.
  • Evaluate present cloud system builds and models compared to company security policy, standards, and well-architected frameworks, looking for ways to bring them in line with standards.
  • Understand underlying technologies to build optimized, efficient templates/blueprints.
  • Collaborate in an agile-based environment and provide good daily feedback on team stand-up calls.
  • Work effectively in a sophisticated technical environment and embrace new technologies.
  • Chip in to a well-informed cloud strategy and handle the adaptation process.
  • Define new and/or consistently refine security reference architectures and patterns in accordance with company policies and standards.
  • Understand key native cloud computing security measures and apply them in architecture builds.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Collaborate with Cloud DevSecOps and Operations teams to integrate security controls into cloud provisioning and DevOps lifecycle.
  • Assist cloud consumers in adopting and adhering to reference architectures in support of security baselines.
