Summary of Role: Block level physical design using Place and Route tools for PPA benchmarking of industry wide used CPU cores using GF technologies. Optimizing standard cell and memory IP through block level design for multiple applications and working with customers to help improve their designs. Scripting and use of CAD tools for VLSI design.
Requirements
- Education – Graduating Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited degree program. Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and proven good academic standing.
- Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)

- Prior related internship or co-op experience.
- Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
- Project management skills, i.e. the ability to innovate and execute solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong planning & organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Physical design using industry standard tools for place and route on CPU cores
- RTL analysis and simulation of the cores to ensure correct implementation
- Working with customers and technology teams to help improve the PPA of their designs
- Standard cell and memory IP improvement through technology and design co-optimization
- TCl /PERL scripting for physical design
- Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
