About The Position

The Fossil Center of Work Excellence (FCWE) is seeking a results-oriented professional with strong business, financial, and data analytics expertise to support FPL's Fossil power generation fleet. This role plays a critical part in planning, analyzing, and managing overhaul budgets, while developing data-driven tools and insights that enable informed business and operational decisions. The individual in this role will be responsible for analyzing overhaul budgets, evaluating cost drivers, forecasting financial impacts, and supporting budget prioritization decisions across the fleet. By integrating financial, maintenance, and reliability data, the role will help ensure overhaul investments are optimized to balance cost, risk, reliability, and business performance. In addition to financial accountability, the individual will enhance and maintain analytics, dashboards, and decision-support tools used to efficiently plan, prioritize, and schedule overhaul work activities. The role requires close collaboration with Plant Operations, Engineering, Central Maintenance, and other fleet stakeholders to maintain a strong focus on fleet risk, standardization, fiscal discipline, and enterprise business objectives. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the following areas: Power BI Microsoft Applications Data Analytics SQL

Responsibilities

  • Provides full-time technical support to the operations and business unit personnel
  • Performs system testing and documentation to critical systems during significant changes and/or upgrade
  • Analyzes and identifies the root cause of - and implements comprehensive technical solutions to - complex application deficiencies and system issues
  • Provides technical leadership in the functional specification, design and implementation of new (as well as enhancements to existing) security center applications and tools
  • Develops new (and improves existing) processes with goal of increasing productivity, reducing risk of system failure, promoting efficiency in work flow, and meeting or exceeding the key operational performance targets
  • Establishes, documents and maintains procedures and guidelines related to the day-to-day operational support provided to the operations and business unit personnel
  • Travels to power plants for onsite troubleshooting support
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
