About The Position

This Paralegal role is responsible for managing WBD’s global trademark portfolio, including prosecution, disputes, and enforcement across multiple jurisdictions. This role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external counsel to ensure our brand assets are protected and aligned with business objectives. By proactively mitigating risk and supporting strategic brand initiatives, we help safeguard the company’s reputation and drive long-term value. This work reflects WBD’s core values of integrity, innovation, and collaboration, and supports our mission to deliver compelling content and experiences to audiences worldwide. It is an essential function of this position that the work be performed partially from the Company’s offices, as it is important to collaborate with members of the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as trademark paralegal either with a law firm or in-house
  • College Degree/Paralegal Certificate preferred
  • Strong organizational, analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and sound judgment
  • Understanding of trademark law and prosecution protocols including USPTO rules
  • Knowledge of trademark databases, WebTMS and Corsearch preferred
  • Knowledge of electronic file management systems, iManage preferred
  • Foreign language skills a plus

Responsibilities

  • Trademark Disputes - Review trademark watch notices, provide recommendation re: whether to pursue, open matters with Docketing team, instruct foreign counsel, gather evidence to support claims, and review drafts of oppositions and other correspondence.
  • Trademark Prosecution – Responsible for large volume of US and International prosecution matters. Ability to manage deadlines and communicate effectively verbally and in written communication.
  • Corresponds regularly with internal counsel, clients and foreign counsel on new trademark filings and routine prosecution matters.
  • Prepare and file USPTO applications and supporting documentation for the life of a trademark including office actions and renewals.
  • Docket Review – Run reports of docket and manage upcoming deadlines.
