Sr Operations Engineer - Renewable
About The Position
NextEra Analytics offers energy consulting services using industry-leading scientific analysis for planning, siting, forecasting and optimizing all forms of energy projects. Our optimization and analytics platforms integrate open-source technologies to leverage massive, diverse sets of utility operating data. This enables rapid development of operational solutions. Applying expertise in advanced mathematics, data and physical sciences, we solve some of the hardest problems facing the energy industry. Position Specific Description Proficiency with data analysis and scripting (e.g., R, Python); strong statistics and time-series fundamentals Experience with production data sources and systems (e.g., SCADA) and performance diagnostics Working knowledge of generation/economic entitlement concepts, curtailment, availability/energy capture metrics, and budget/forecast translation Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex analyses, drive cross-functional alignment, and communicate clearly to executive audiences Applied AI/ML for operational analytics on production data, including problem framing, feature design, model validation, and communicating limitations; experience with common approaches such as forecasting, anomaly detection, and classification/regression Ability to operationalize analytics (models, rules, heuristics) into reliable workflows with versioning, automated testing, scheduling, monitoring, and performance/drift tracking across cloud or onâprem environments Responsible AI practices: awareness of model risk and bias, appropriate explainability for non-technical stakeholders, reproducibility, and sound documentation Effective use of AI assistants to accelerate analytics, documentation, and reporting within data governance and security guardrails
Requirements
