We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Engineer to join our dynamic team. This role involves designing and optimizing alternative energy systems, including but not limited to, solar and energy storage solutions. The ideal candidate will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable energy solutions. Salary Range: $130,000 to $200,000 plus bonus.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience designing energy systems (solar, energy storage, etc..).
  • Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, SEL Software, or similar.
  • Understanding of grid integration, power electronics, and energy distribution.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, IEEE, IEC).
  • Knowledge of networking devices and troubleshooting communications.
  • Must have valid driver’s license and a reliable mode of transportation.
  • Ability to travel overnight for jobsite visits and/or client meetings.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications preferred but not required; NABCEP, FE, PE.
  • Experience with microgrids, hybrid systems, and smart grid technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Must be self-directed and be able to work independently as well as in a team environment and take direction.
  • Strong communication and written skills to interact with multiple disciplines in a construction and office environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design energy systems, including but not limited to solar and energy storage solutions.
  • Create and review engineering calculations, drawings, layouts, and system specifications.
  • Perform energy modeling and simulations using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for alternative energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international energy regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize system performance and cost-effectiveness.
  • Support project development by providing technical documentation and proposals.
  • Visit active construction sites to provide engineering reports to document progress, obstacles to construction, and possible resolutions to the engineering team.
  • Support project team with technical communications for RFI’s generation and responses.
  • Actively participate and direct on-site commissioning activities.
