About The Position

Transform, cleanse, and combine data from a variety of internal and external data sources to uncover insights that can be used to inform stakeholders and aid in decision making. Engineer descriptive and diagnostic analytic solutions to provide business with an understanding as to what is currently happening in the business and industry wide. Detect, troubleshoot, and foresee data and analysis issues while implementing and creating analytic solutions. Work directly with the business to provide actionable, data-driven insights. All job duties and responsibilities must be carried out in compliance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Demonstrate broad understanding of statistical and data visualization methodologies and their business applications.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, and project prioritization skills.
  • Experience with Agile methodology.
  • Effective communication skills and presenting in front of Senior Management.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with business.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as: Tableau, Qlikview, Spotfire, or Microsoft Business Intelligence, etc.
  • Capability to manipulate data with enterprise-scale database systems (SQL, SAS, etc.).
  • Experience with scripting language such as: R, Python, or Java.
  • Big Data/Hadoop/Spark experience
  • Master's degree with 4 years of analytics experience or Bachelor's with 5-7 years of analytics experience and education in Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.

  • Insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of ad-hoc analyses for functional areas to better understand business problems by leveraging knowledge of current state, current processes, future needs, and industry trends to aid the creation of best practices and decision making.
  • Prepare, cleanse, and manipulate high-volume, high-dimensionality data from varying sources in order to highlight patterns, anomalies, relationships, and trends.
  • Perform descriptive and diagnostics analysis to understand relationships related to highly complex data business problems via effective data visualizations and other presentation techniques for potential new operational monitors and metrics.
  • Conduct complex and comprehensive data analysis spanning internal and external data sources such as financial, competitor, marketplace, and third-party data.
  • Provide strategy support through decision analytics and research including executive summaries, hypothesis testing, data exploration, and experimental design, operations research, and third-party insights.
  • Leverage data visualization and dash boarding to support operational monitoring, track operational activities and identify outcome variances and anomalies.
  • Research and recommend new data and tools to enrich analytical solutions across functional areas.
  • Effectively communicate the insights to senior business leaders generated from analyses through presentations, data visualizations, reports, and executive summaries.
  • Lead the design of best-in-class insights discovery solutions utilizing data leveraging technologies such as text mining and image recognition.
  • Provide training and mentorship to associates and analysts. Structure sessions for the broader community to stay current with industry trends including cutting edge methodology, software, and platforms while driving the culture of innovation and analytics.
