Guarantee Trust Life Insurance Company (GTL) is currently seeking a Sr. Operational Accounting Specialist to join our team! This position is required to work on-site in our Chicagoland (Glenview, IL) office most days. Everyone receives 3 flexible remote days per month and 6 additional Friday PTO days each year! And, we offer half-day Fridays – every Friday! The Sr. Operational Accounting Specialist position is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to our growing insurance company by handling a variety of functions for our policyholders, agents/brokers, and key stakeholders.
Requirements
- 1-2 years of accounting experience
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree a plus.
- Confident user of MS Office Suite, specifically Excel and Word, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Clear communicator with a service-oriented approach to issues resolution.
- A tenacious attitude to take on more responsibilities, learn and grow, and be up for the next challenge.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service via email or phone to agents/brokers, customers/policyholders, and internal departments including Licensing, Sales, New Business Development, IT, and Compliance.
- Be responsible for building and maintaining commission structures.
- Review statements to ensure the timely and accurate payment of commissions.
- Assist in projects related to Operational Accounting functions.
- Participate in important finance initiatives and projects that involve problem solving and organization.
