The salary for this position is: $4,033.00 - $5,364.00 monthly. Thurston County is seeking a highly motivated and qualified individual for the position of Senior Office Assistant within the Administrative Services Division of Central Services. The Central Services Department provides diverse internal services to County offices and departments. This position is a front desk profession who through customer interactions assists in getting the customer to the correct office or department to receive the service they came in for. This position also answers phone calls and provides information on county-wide services. Essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following: Provides excellent customer service in person and over the phone. Assists customers in signing into the self-service kiosk for service number. Answers incoming phone calls on a county central line. Provides accurate information and/or transfers to appropriate department or office. Although the area is temperature controlled it is inside an external door and has high ceilings therefore temperatures fluctuate. Schedule - Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Customer Interactions - Daily interactions in-person and via phone in a busy lobby area. Two years experience in an office environment with responsibility for performing a full range of senior level office support tasks, including experience providing information and assistance to the general public. Ability to type at a minimum of 55 wpm (higher levels may be required for specified positions.) Ability to fully utilize the personal computer and related software programs. DESIRED SKILLS: Personable and inviting mannerisms while working with internal and external customers. Able to give accurate, detailed directions to customers. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, in person and over the phone. Ability to manage in-person customers and answer the phone simultaneously. Work independently, identify resources, and make independent decisions. Positive attitude and team player mentality.
