About The Position

Senior Product Development Engineer possessing strong technical judgment and a deep understanding of customer centric design to support new product development from concept to production.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field required; Master's preferred.
  • Extensive understanding of engineering principles, medical device development, and customer-centric design.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, joining methods, rapid prototyping).
  • Familiarity with risk management tools and product lifecycle best practices.
  • Proficient in CAD (SolidWorks preferred), tolerance stack ups, DFM, and GD&T.
  • Knowledge of experimental, computational, and analytical methods, including DFSS, DOE, and MiniTab.
  • Action-oriented with a keen attention to detail and a strong aptitude for technical learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage deliverables to meet milestones.
  • Skilled in technical writing, able to author protocols, reports, and risk documentation with minimal guidance.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities, able to resolve complex technical challenges using innovative solutions.
  • Effective communicator who can present technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in assigning tasks and mentoring junior engineers and team members.
  • Capable of evaluating, selecting, and applying standard techniques and procedures for projects with complex features.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability, and a drive for results in all aspects of project leadership.
  • Builds collaborative relationships with project teams, suppliers, customers, and stakeholders.
  • Actively supports knowledge sharing and mentorship to foster team growth and development.
  • Embraces continuous learning, staying current with new techniques and industry advancements.
  • Maintains high standards for quality and conformity in documentation and deliverables.
  • 5+ years in medical device product development with a Bachelor's degree, or 1-3 years with a Master's degree.
  • Proven track record of leading small to medium-sized engineering projects, including subsystem ownership.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive project documentation and supporting manufacturing transfer activities.
  • Demonstrated success in applying broad technical expertise to solve complex problems and develop innovative products.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to travel up to 10% as needed.
