About The Position

The Sr. Network Operations Manager provides leadership and technical expertise in the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of Ryder’s enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the delivery of highly available, secure, and scalable network services across hybrid environments (on-premises and cloud). The position requires a strong leader with deep networking knowledge and operational experience to drive excellence in network performance, reliability, and security. This role manages a team responsible for network operations, including incident and problem management, capacity planning, performance optimization, and compliance with security standards. The Sr. Manager will define operational roadmaps, establish metrics and reporting, and oversee financial management for network-related services and assets.

  • Experience with network monitoring tools, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Proven track record in managing network operations teams and delivering complex network projects.
  • Familiarity with ITSM processes and tools for incident, problem, and change management.
  • Bachelor's degree required Bachelor's Degree or equivalent - Information system, computer science or similar degree
  • Ten (10) years or more A minimum of 10 years experience in Information Technology with at least 7 years in a leadership role. required
  • Seven (7) years or more Experience in providing IT Operations support for a large global enterprise. required
  • Five (5) years or more Experience in developing an IT Operations service oriented culture in a geographically and culturally diverse organization. required
  • Strong experience of IT Operations technologies and processes including endpoint, network, server, SAN, monitoring, backup, patching, DR, ITSM. advanced required
  • Strong background in IT Security, specifically IT Risk, Vulnerability Management and system best practices. advanced required
  • Proven track record in the management of a technical support group and in technical Project Management. advanced required
  • Strong understanding and experience with the delivery of IT Operations Managed Services. advanced required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance network design, implementation, monitoring, and operational processes.
  • Ensure 24x7x365 delivery of network services, including incident response, change management, performance monitoring, patching, and disaster recovery.
  • Lead and mentor network operations staff, setting clear expectations, managing performance, and supporting career development.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to integrate network solutions into Ryder’s SDLC and enterprise architecture.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including hardware/software lifecycle, licensing, maintenance, and cost optimization.
  • Embed security best practices into all network operations and processes.
  • Partner with IT leadership and business units to align network strategies with organizational goals.
  • Oversee projects impacting network infrastructure across multiple teams and business units.
  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies, ITSM practices, and operational methodologies.
  • Provide audit and compliance oversight for network operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
