About The Position

The Sr Network Analyst (Sr IT Engineer) position at Honeywell International, Inc. in Houston, TX involves supporting the operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure, including vCenter Server Appliance and vRealize Operations Manager. The role requires performing upgrades and applying patches or firmware updates to the virtual infrastructure software or hardware. The candidate will leverage a good understanding of Private and Public Cloud technologies and assist the team in NSX-T with implementing and maintaining a large deployment of an NSX overlay on top of a spine leaf topology. Advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to expedite incident resolution is also a key responsibility. The position requires providing operational support on a wide range of technologies, including VMWare NSX, Cisco, Citrix Load balancer, and various networking devices.

Requirements

• Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or a related field.
• 5 years of experience in any occupation where the required experience was gained.
• Working knowledge of hyper converged Network environment and software defined networking technologies.
• Hands-on experience and advanced knowledge with stackable switching, software defined Network access, and wireless assurance.
• Experience with Network data protection, business continuity, and disaster recovery options.
• Ability to deliver on complex Network situations or problems without guidance or supervision.
• Programming, scripting, and developing code on Unix using APIs, Python, or equivalent.
• Ability to partner effectively across IT teams, suppliers, and business customers on cross-functional projects.
• Knowledge of IT business processes and practices including ITIL methodology.

Responsibilities

• Support the operations and maintenance of the VMware virtual infrastructure.
• Perform upgrades and apply patches or firmware updates to the virtual infrastructure software or hardware.
• Assist the team in NSX-T with implementing and maintaining a large deployment of an NSX overlay.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis to expedite incident resolution.
• Provide operational support on a wide range of technologies, including VMWare NSX, Cisco, Citrix Load balancer, and networking devices.
• Configure and install various network devices and services.
• Perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes, and security configurations.
• Work within established configuration and change management policies.
