About The Position

Learn more at northernnevadahealth.com This Senior Network Administrator opportunity is full time at 40 hours per week, offers full benefits and a convenient dayshift schedule. This dynamic individual will perform specialized technical duties related to the support of local area network, file servers, workstations, applications and databases. Works closely with technical manager in leading IS related projects. Responsible for database management and strategies including the installation, configuration, administration and maintenance of network systems including backups. Performs specialized duties including the support of network devices such as switches and routers. Responsible for the support and maintenance of network servers and full VMWare environment. Position monitors security standards and provides higher level of technical support to the Customer Support staff. Participates in the strategic implementation and design of tools and systems vital to the operation of the hospital.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering required.
  • Minimum five (5) years previous as a network administrator preferred.
  • Experience supporting and maintaining local and wide area networks, including ensuring system availability, securing the network from external threats, and maintaining network servers.

Nice To Haves

  • Microsoft or Cisco Certified preferred.
  • Eight (8) years of previous experience as a network administrator may be substituted in lieu of degree.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the installation, configuration and maintenance of hardware and software including applications, databases and programming components of network systems related to Network Servers, Web Servers and VMWare environments.
  • Monitors the facility's network to ensure the equipment is functioning properly, storage is sufficient and data backups are kept current.
  • Remains informed on the latest developments in automated information systems and procedures as it relates to the systems and networks in the organization. Possesses an understanding of future technology directions through solutions development and recommendations.
  • Maximizes network performance by monitoring performance, troubleshooting network problems and outages, and scheduling upgrades.
