This position exists to support plant operations by maintaining optimal stocking levels of supplies, tooling and equipment parts using all available electronic systems. The Manufacturing Inventory Coordinator needs to possess the following competencies: Informing, Customer Focus, Time Management, Priority Setting and Organizational Skills. Opportunity available on either 2nd or 3rd shift.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

  • At least two (2) years of material-related experience in a manufacturing environment and working knowledge of a requisition-based planning/ordering system
  • Infor XA and/or SAP ERP system experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform necessary activities to ensure timely flow of incoming materials, repair and operating supplies (MRO) using the electronic requisition process, web-based systems, or other methods.
  • Coordinate supplier managed stocking activities as needed to ensure appropriate stocking levels and urgent restocking activities take place.
  • Manage stockroom area by maintaining a clean, orderly, and clearly labeled stocking system.
  • Ensure effective and efficient storage of parts is maintained.
  • Maintain inventory targets to balance supplier lead-time and inventory value verses risk of downtime.
  • Expedite materials as required or needed.
  • Negotiate better pricing and/or find alternate, lower cost sourcing options.
  • Perform frequent / daily cycle counts of MRO inventory and report inventory accuracy to supervisor.
  • Restock materials into drawers/racking and reconcile physical inventory and receipt issues with Shipping & Receiving as needed.
  • Maintain good communication with suppliers and internal customers.
  • Track and communicate pricing net changes (increases and decreases) to Supervisor.
  • Track and communicate stockroom Stock-outs to Supervisor.
  • Ensure maintenance transactions are loaded into the system to drive reorder activities.
  • Coordinate shipping of tools to the appropriate suppliers for repair and return.
  • Help cover other stockroom activities during vacations and absences.
  • Suggest continuous improvement opportunities within and outside of the supply chain organization.
