About The Position

Apex Fintech Solutions is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Engineering to lead our Platform Architecture team. You will play a pivotal role in leading engineering teams and collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams and managers to deliver cutting edge projects that shape the future of our industry. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience) required
• 10+ years prior experience in cloud-native platform or software development
• 5+ years leading engineering teams in fast-paced environments
• Track record of building secure, high-performance services
• Experience with cloud platforms and modern DevOps practices
• Advanced knowledge of software testing and automation tools
• Ability to adapt quickly to new technologies and lead teams in learning and implementing these technologies
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to details
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think strategically about technology-driven solutions
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in creating clarity, generating energy, and delivering success
• Demonstrated ability to lead with integrity and remain calm during stressful situations while managing multiple demands and priorities
• Demonstrated technical leadership to provide technical guidance on technology issues, designs, and ideas.
• Demonstrated ownership mentality with personal accountability as the foundation
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Proficiency in cloud-based (GCP preferred, AWS) backend systems and micro-service architecture to ensure scalability and reliability
• Solid understanding of DevOps principles with hands-on experience in CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation
• Understanding of security best practices for APIs, backend systems, and infrastructure

Nice To Haves

• Financial services or regulated environment experience a plus
• Experience reducing operational toil through automation a plus
• Familiarity with financial systems, trading and accounting concepts, and compliance within regulated environments to build high-quality and secure solutions highly desired

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Platform Engineers in building high-quality, scalable, and resilient distributed systems
• Foster an environment of rapid learning and adaptation to new technologies, tools, and frameworks
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the integration and deployment of best-in-class financial services solutions
• Manage and mentor engineering teams, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth
• Grow and mentor engineers and developers to implement best-practices and collectively collaborate across teams to build and integrate innovative products.
• Adhere to and drive modern software engineering practices through code and design reviews, and by using data and AI to make decisions.
• Build collaborative and productive relationships with development, product and program managers along with broader business stakeholders to define Apex’ platform strategy and help accomplish key business objectives.
• Provide progress reports to project teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership.
• Have a strong understanding of business and technical problems that teams are solving for, and can work with stakeholders and teams to clarify, prioritize, and organize team’s work based on this knowledge.
• Perform risk analysis to identify and effectively manage risks; proactively raise prioritization and scheduling tradeoff decisions, escalating and identifying alternate options as appropriate; Follow defined Risk Management processes.
• Assess existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement, including building the business cases and justification for stakeholders and senior leadership.
• Continually learn and understand Apex’ broad product portfolio
• Travel occasionally to meet with engineering teams, stakeholders, and to stay aligned with industry advancements
