About The Position

The Senior Manager, Network Deployment Planning leads the strategic planning and coordination of network infrastructure deployment across AWS data centers. This role is accountable for translating network capacity requirements into executable deployment plans, managing the end-to-end planning lifecycle for cabling installation, network scaling projects, and brick deployments across multiple clusters. The Senior Manager establishes planning frameworks and processes that enable deployment teams to execute efficiently while maintaining alignment with broader infrastructure delivery timelines. This position requires technical knowledge of data center network architecture and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration across deployment, vendor management, sourcing, and operations teams. The role manages the portfolio of network deployment projects across multiple clusters and regions, maintaining visibility into project status, timelines, and resource allocation. The Senior Manager monitors key metrics such as plan accuracy, on-time delivery rates, and resource utilization to identify trends and potential risks early, and facilitates planning reviews to resolve conflicts between competing priorities. The role establishes mechanisms for tracking plan accuracy and identifying gaps between planned and actual execution, implementing improvements to planning processes. The Senior Manager establishes reporting mechanisms that provide stakeholders with clear visibility into portfolio health, proactively identifies constraints that could impact delivery, and proposes solutions to address gaps or optimize performance across the project portfolio. The Senior Manager works across teams to align cabling plans along the network deployment lifecycle. Daily activities include monitoring project status across the portfolio, identifying projects at risk of missing target dates, and working with stakeholders to resolve blockers or adjust plans. The role involves regular touchpoints with deployment and operations leadership to review project portfolios and align on needs to support successful delivery, planning teams to understand demand forecasts, vendor management to review resourcing alignment, and sourcing to drive material availability. This role addresses the challenge of maintaining portfolio visibility across multiple clusters and regions while ensuring individual project plans meet near-term capacity needs.
