Under limited supervision, directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive environmental, health, safety, and security programs, policies, and procedures that are compliant and promote continuous improvement. Provides the leadership, direction, and support necessary to ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and standards to meet or exceed relevant internal and external safety, environmental & security standards consistent with sound business practice. Develops and maintains relationships with all levels within and outside the organization, from corporate, regional, and plant management to supervisors and hourly employees in the production areas. The position may direct the work of other salary or hourly persons and/or consultants. Specialized responsibilities may include but are not limited to multiple site responsibilities, subject matter expert for COE, multiple function responsibilities (i.e., commercial), and sites with a higher degree of complexity (PSM, RMP, Combustible Dust, etc.) Provide guidance and oversite to the Health Service function at the plant. Responsibilities include incident management, clinical management, and management of the clinical team. Support new facility development by reviewing drawings and making safety, health, and environmental recommendations to improve functions. As a vital member of the EHS global team, support all Hershey locations in maintaining regulatory compliance by issuing guidance and sharing best practices. Follow up with compliance audits and provide tools to ensure compliance is sustainable. Lead a global EHS team (ergo, PSM, environmental, IH, etc.). Help develop international standards and policies. Utilize talent cost-effectively and economically. Providing guidance, motivation, and direction.
