About The Position

Description Primary Duties & Responsibilities Maintain, repair, and troubleshoot metrology and photolithography wafer processing tools as directed by management and equipment engineers. Independently operates equipment to validate corrective actions, tool recoveries, and process stability. Perform reactive maintenance and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal tool uptime and performance, including support systems (pumps, power supplies, vacuum systems, and gas cabinets). Able to work independently and in a team environment when required. Assist equipment engineers with data collection, root-cause analysis, and resolution of recurring tool issues. Collaborate with Process Engineering, Facilities, and other departments to support manufacturing goals. Be a member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) Coordinate maintenance activities and communicate equipment status with EES Manager, EES Engineers and in Camstar system. Train and mentor new and junior team members and attend offsite training when required. Assist equipment engineers with written specs and procedures.

Requirements

  • Practical knowledge and application of electronics, mechanics, vacuum theory, math, computers, and Testing.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills and software programs (i.e. Microsoft products)
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and ability to learn the operational concepts of systems and how to perform diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques to solve more complex operational and system problems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, pneumatic diagrams, flow charts and cause and effect diagrams.
  • Ability to set up, operate and interpret output of test equipment to include, but not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt-ohm meters, current and voltage sources and chart recorders.
  • Ability to learn and adhere to established company and departmental policies pertaining to day-to-day operations.
  • Must meet requirements for Emergency response team.
  • Problem Solving: Able to troubleshoot intermediate issues with little to no guidance. Initial responder for unscheduled down tools
  • Knowledge of how to read electronic schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Understand and follow both written procedures and verbal instructions, in the preventive maintenance of wafer fab equipment.
  • Organization: Able to balance planned and unplanned activities in a timely, professional manner.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical instructions.
  • Ability to respond to internal and external inquiries.
  • Ability to solve problems, collect data, establish facts to draw valid solutions.
  • Able to interpret technical instructions both written and verbal.
  • Able to communicate both verbally and written with internal customers.
  • A basic understanding of processes ran on tool sets to interface with process teams.
  • Must be able to… Work in a Class 100/1000 clean room
  • Wear full clean room attire.
  • Work with and/or around chemicals such as acids and solids.
  • Work with and/or around gases, both hazardous and non-hazardous.
  • Stand for up to extended periods at a time.
  • Lift 50 pounds or push/pull up to 150 pounds.
  • Work Monday- Friday 7AM-4:30PM with flexibility to work overtime when required
  • Must be able to pass and maintain an ERT clearance through periodic physicals.
  • All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

  • Military Electronics certification or AS technical degree in electronics preferred.
  • Expected Minimum Years of Related Experience Preferred: maintenance and repair experience in multiple of the following equipment: 7+ years experience maintaining wafer processing equipment.
