About The Position

About this role The Senior Medical Manager is a part of US Medical Immunology (Lupus and Nephrology), a strategic partner within Biogen, that helps inform medical practice across our therapeutic areas and pipeline to improve meaningful patient outcomes. As a key member of the US Immunology Medical Director office team that reports to the Medical Director, Immunology, the Senior Medical Manager – Lupus will collaborate closely with Medical Operations to coordinate and execute the lupus key medical strategies and tactics. What You Will Do Be a credible/medical scientific expert who is accountable as the primary lupus representative and process driver that reviews and coordinates submissions for both the Scientific (non-promotional) Material Review (DSMR) and Commercial Promotional (PRC) teams to ensure consistency of therapeutic area content and communication per established standards. Engage with cross-functional partners (Legal/Compliance, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial) from the US Medical perspective to ensure content is medically sound, compliant, adequately referenced and aligned with medical strategy. As the primary point of contact for medical communication agencies, supports project planning for medical tactics and facilitates activities for content development, as assigned. Coordinate and liaise with other internal stakeholders to include a variety of global immunology functions ( i.e. Global Medical team, Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Pharmacovigilance, R&D) to ensure scientific content development and communications US Immunology Medical team are met and aligned with Global Scientific Platform i.e. slide presentations, Advisory boards, Congresses, medical training. Coordinate & implement initiatives for the US Immunology Medical Team and US cross-functional stakeholders. Who You Are You are a scientific or clinical professional with a passion for science and deep scientific knowledge. You have a talent for paying attention to details and enjoy supporting activities around content development for internal and external resources i.e. presentations, medical training, advisory boards. You keep patients, payers, and physicians top of mind in your daily work and collaborate to solve critical scientific and business challenges.

Requirements

  • PharmD, PhD, MD, DNP or other advanced degree in the life sciences
  • Minimum two years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
  • Relevant experience with regulatory review processes in Medical Affairs is desired
  • Excellent communication (written and oral), including presentation skills
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively operate and influence within a highly matrixed organization
  • Solid project management skills to include the ability to take initiative to solve complex and challenging problems

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical or research experience as a subject matter expert in lupus preferred
  • Previous work in medical communications &/or medical information
  • Experience with (Specialty Care) is a plus
