Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related Engineering/Technology discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in detailed part and product design for mechanical or electromechanical systems.
  • Hands-on experience using camera and video recording systems to support diagnostic testing and failure analysis.
  • Experience with data acquisition (DAQ) systems for testing and analysis of complex electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency with mechanical design and development tools, including SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D).
  • Demonstrated ability to design components using multiple manufacturing and fabrication methods, including injection molding, castings, machining, and sheet metal.
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently and in cross-functional team environments.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to engineering challenges.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate across all organizational levels, as well as with external customers and vendors.
  • Fluency in English (reading and writing) required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with additive manufacturing / 3D printing preferred.
  • German language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Validate component- and system-level requirements through design verification and validation (DV&V) testing.
  • Develop and execute mechanical test plans, test protocols, and validation reports in compliance with internal and external requirements.
  • Perform DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and define risk-based validation testing to address high-risk failure modes.
  • Accurately document test methods, data analysis, and results in formal engineering reports.
  • Develop, maintain, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) supporting test and manufacturing activities.
  • Utilize standard testing protocols from organizations such as: IEEE, ISO, ASTM, IEC.
  • Create CAD models and mechanical design documentation to support design validation and test fixture development.
  • Design and build validation fixtures, lifecycle test fixtures, and stress-test gauges for repeatable testing.
  • Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and process development to improve manufacturing readiness.
  • Drive engineering change requests (ECRs/ECOs) based on test and validation findings.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, and R&D teams to resolve design and production issues.
  • Support prototyping, assembly, and mechanical testing of components and systems.
  • Research and implement new test methods, tools, and technologies to improve product reliability and test efficiency
