About The Position

We are looking for a senior mechanical engineer to join KLA’s Electronics Rack & PDU Engineering Center in Ann Arbor, MI. Our team designs and develops advanced electromechanical assemblies that power high-performance computing (HPC) infrastructure for KLA products, enabling innovative AI-driven image data processing. In this role, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of next-generation rack and power distribution solutions aligned with KLA’s compute and rack roadmaps. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong systems-level thinking, and leadership potential, thriving in a fast-paced environment where driving complex projects under strict deadlines is key.

Requirements

  • Solid foundation in mechanical design and analysis, including solid mechanics, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, mechanics of materials, and finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Creo preferred) and FEA software (Ansys preferred).
  • Hands-on experience in electromechanical assembly design, ideally at the rack-system level.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Consistent track record of driving schedules and deliverables under compressed timelines.
  • Strong collaborator communication and relationship-building capabilities.
  • Knowledge of production processes and experience with install base issue resolution.
  • Genuine interest in developing people management skills and leading small teams.
  • Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with liquid cooling technologies for server racks highly desirable.
