The Sr. Marketing Strategist – Proprietary will be responsible for leading and overseeing the strategic execution of marketing initiatives to drive growth and value within Nutrien Ag Solutions’ proprietary brands, including Dyna-Gro Seed, Proven Seed and the Loveland Products international business. This role involves developing and implementing marketing strategies that not only elevate each portfolio but also support and strengthen the complete Nutrien Ag Solutions retail offering. Key responsibilities include analyzing performance metrics, optimizing proprietary marketing campaigns, and delivering initiatives that increase product consideration, preference, and loyalty. This position will work cross-functionally with commercial, product, and brand teams to ensure seamless execution, brand alignment, and strong marketplace impact. Success in this role requires exceptional communication skills, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the seed industry. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Brand and Marketing Strategy and will collaborate with the Seed Marketing and Loveland Products leadership teams. Some travel may be required. This role will be posted from 12/11/25 - 01/05/26

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in marketing, advertising, communications or agriculture; experience may be considered in lieu of education.
  • 6+ years of experience with an internal marketing team, advertising/PR agency, ag sales or agribusiness.
  • A strong understanding of the agriculture industry, with specific knowledge of seed marketing, grower behavior, and channel dynamics.
  • Ability to organize and create plans for holistic marketing campaigns/programs and develop and deliver compelling presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic marketing or marketing-related initiatives that deliver measurable business impact.
  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to build strong relationships across internal teams, suppliers, and external partners.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts and strategies to stakeholder at all levels.
  • Strong problem solving skills, with the ability to develop creative, efficient and measurable solutions to meet business objectives.
  • A passion for elevating brands, driving growth, and delivering marketing that connects with the customer.
  • The ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on execution in a fast-paced, evolving marketplace.
  • Experience managing budgets and allocating resources effectively to maximize the impact of creative and marketing initiatives.
  • The highest ethical standards and a strong sense of accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute proprietary brand marketing strategies that align with Nutrien Ag Solutions’ business objectives while strengthening the overall Nutrien Ag Solutions’ brand.
  • Collaborate with Sr. Marketing Strategists responsible for the Seed shelf and Loveland Products to deliver joint marketing initiatives that create mutual value and marketplace differentiation.
  • Support commercial and regional sales teams with marketing tools, campaigns, and programs that drive grower engagement and retail adoption.
  • Manage timelines in collaboration with business unit and retail execution and implementation strategy.
  • Oversee engagements and serve as a conduit between stakeholders and external agency partners to ensure all key communication tactics are appropriately aligned with strategic outputs.
  • Review and provide input on creative assets for consistency, alignment with brand standards and availability to internal resources and agency partners.
  • Monitor campaign performance measurements, analyzing data and insights to optimize effectiveness and ROI across seed marketing efforts.
  • Ensure consistent brand messaging and positioning across all seed marketing channels and materials.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, brand, and communications teams to deliver cohesive marketing strategies that reinforce Nutrien’s leadership in the market.
  • Identify and activate growth opportunities through innovative marketing approaches that increase proprietary portfolio awareness, consideration, and loyalty.
