Kaiser Permanente's National Marketing department is at the forefront of driving growth for the enterprise. The Project Management Center of Excellence (PM CoE) is instrumental in delivering work across multiple audiences and lines of business by executing with a sophisticated and modern marketing program and project management capability. As part of the PM CoE, the Program Manager VI position will program manage critical strategic initiatives that enable commercial group growth, retention, brand transformation, and government programs. Additionally, they will play a key role partnering with the PM CoE leader to manage the PM CoE's dynamic work portfolio including business case development, stakeholder engagement, guiding the work of CoE team members to support projects within the portfolio, ensuring quality project management practices and building out the center of excellence approach to program and project management within Marketing. Seasoned portfolio management skills that enable you to balance competing priorities to drive business value delivery will ensure your success in this fast-paced, agile environment. In addition, experience managing change and implementing PMO practices will enable you to be central to maturing the PM CoE capability.

  • Oversees the delivery of large-scale programs or components with multiple workstreams and strategic business goals across departments, functions, or regions.
  • Drives the completion of the work of multiple program teams by evaluating and providing feedback on internal and/or external resources and team composition.
  • Proactively monitors, identifies, and mitigates risks, issues, and trigger events across multiple, interdependent programs.
  • Monitors compliance of program activities by ensuring program plans and team members adhere to relevant policies and procedures.
  • Ensures the alignment, buy-in, engagement, and support of diverse program stakeholders.
  • Reviews vendor performance levels, provides direction on service improvements or revisions to strategy, and facilitates contract negotiations with vendors.
  • Promotes learning in others by communicating information and providing advice to drive projects forward.
  • Solicits and acts on performance feedback; provides actionable feedback to others, including upward feedback to leadership.
  • Practices self-leadership; creates, evaluates, and responds to the strengths and weaknesses of self and unit or team members.

  • Leads program activities related to organizational change management.
  • Assists in the establishment and management of proper program management practices.
  • Creates and communicates a clear vision of program goals and objectives to the team.

  • Minimum five (5) years experience in a leadership role with or without direct reports.
  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university and minimum twelve (12) years experience in project management or a directly related field, including minimum seven (7) years program management experience OR Minimum fifteen (15) years experience in project management or a directly related field including minimum seven (7) years program management experience.
