About The Position

Though this is not a supervisory position, the Senior Manufacturing Engineer will take on a lead role from the perspective of manufacturing engineering while assigned in direct support to projects and programs to help facilitate New Product Launches (NPIs) and—when not in direct support to a specific program/project--will help guide a team of manufacturing engineers and industrial engineers through Continuous Improvement activities, work cell development, and the integration of automated assets. Key capabilities critical to the success of this role and the overall project include having familiarity with Root Cause Analyses and Kaizen events; value stream / process mapping, and load balancing, programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and Additive Manufacturing (AM) principles and processes. Additionally, this role will guide, support, and execute the development of Production Routings and BOMs in SAP, disposition of defective material as well as executing Engineering Change Management (ECM) activities through coordination with the Project Lead and Program Manager (PM). Primary taskings for this position include supporting the production launch of products while directly assigned to specific programs. Additional taskings will include the guiding the evolution of production cells, layout modeling, direct support and planning for integration of industrial automation in support of fabrication and assembly operations (including configuration and redeployment of assets) supporting engineering and production staffing/labor estimates during proposals; draft site-level procedures, conventions, and practices pertaining to Manufacturing Engineering and Industrial Engineering processes and standard; review and approve work instructions and conduct cross-functional coordination's with the design engineering teams, production scheduling, quality control, and other leadership for fabrication; and review of critical processes as defined by military standards, specifications, Technical Orders (TOs), Technical Data Packages (TDPs), and contracts.
