The Sr. Manufacturing Director | Site Leader is responsible for all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and people aspects in our manufacturing site in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This position reports to the VP Manufacturing Midwest and leads all phases of manufacturing and technical functions to advance existing technology to produce the highest quality Medtronic products. This leader embraces innovation and continuous improvement through the alignment of people, strategy, and culture while driving sustainable performance. The Sr. Manufacturing Director | Site Leader leverages the Medtronic Performance System (MPS) to establish Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets, prioritize key initiatives, and partner with Operating Units and Global Supply Chain functions to set breakthrough objectives and capacity plans. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in Operational Excellence, Production Planning, and Medical, Pharmaceutical, or CPG Manufacturing, including at least 10 years of managerial experience; or Advanced degree with a minimum of 13 years of relevant experience, including at least 10 years of managerial experience.
  • For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

  • Degree in Engineering or Technical Sciences.
  • Medical Device Manufacturing experience.
  • Breadth of background across numerous roles/functions within Manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated use of Lean Manufacturing principles to achieve results.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and build winning teams to further our mission: alleviate pain, restore health, and extend life by building products in a safe working environment with the highest quality and speed at the most optimal cost.
  • Guide, deploy, and execute the Medtronic Performance System (MPS), our “one best way” methodology and tools that support our holistic operational excellence program.
  • Implement and execute comprehensive operations strategies that assure success of the organization and accountability for safety, quality, production, cost, and people.
  • Plan and administer budgets, including making budgetary recommendations on capital expenditures and labor requirements.
  • Implement cost reduction, waste reduction, quality improvement, and productivity improvement programs to ensure attainment of key performance metrics and sustainable performance improvements.
  • Develop organizational capability through talent development, succession planning, and leadership engagement.
  • Represent Medtronic in the community and in professional organizations at a local or regional level.

  • Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$204,000.00 - $306,000.00
  • This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
  • This position is eligible for an annual long-term incentive plan.
  • The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico.
  • Base pay is based on numerous factors and may vary by job-related knowledge, skills, experience, etc.
  • Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
