About The Position

We are seeking a Language Strategy & Translation Automation Senior Manager within the Enterprise Service Management (ESM) team to play a key role in shaping the future of service delivery across the enterprise. In this role, you will establish Language Translation as a service for the enterprise, including Translation automation (leveraging AI-based translation tools) and trusted translations.​ You’ll work together with the Service Experience Lead and the functional teams to define and govern language strategy across the enterprise, for both system and content languages.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required, MD preferred​
  • 8+ years of experience supporting or driving strategy and planning within large, complex organizations, with demonstrated impact on service delivery, operational efficiency, or experience transformation
  • Experience in defining & implementing language translation as a service for the enterprise.​
  • Experience with implementing and managing AI-based TMS (translation management systems) ​
  • Experience with enterprise service platforms such as ServiceNow or equivalent
  • Experience in persona-based design, service journey mapping, and process simplification
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-evolving environments, with a proactive mindset and the ability to bring structure and clarity to complex challenges
  • Strong, professional interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage competing priorities and maintain high-quality output in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment

Responsibilities

  • Define, execute, and govern language strategy, both system and content languages, across the enterprise.​
  • Establish, manage, and constantly improve Language Translation as a service, including trusted translations.​
  • Improve quality, consistency, time and efforts by centralizing the translation process, removing the manual effort and optimizing the translation service workflows. ​​
  • Implement AI-powered translation and machine translation engines provided by a Language Translation Management System (TMS) to help translate content, webpages, communications, and other documents from one language to multiple languages.​​
  • Select, implement, and manage a state-of-the-art TMS that helps McDonald's automate workflows and optimize the translation process.​​
  • Leverage TMS to enable and implement capabilities and specialized tools like Translation Memories and Glossaries to optimize cost, speed, quality, and consistency of translations.​​
  • Establish a network of proofreaders in Markets & Functions to validate the automated translations and improve glossaries and translation memories ​
  • Establish and govern a Community of Practice for Language Translations across the most involved Functions (L&D, Marketing, Comms, etc.)​
  • Enable dynamic translation for end-users’ multilanguage support, reducing the impact of hiring support specialist with specific language skills​.
  • Assist in the development of communications, training, and enablement materials related to translation related initiatives to drive awareness, stakeholder readiness, and successful adoption of design changes.
