The Senior Manager of Strategy & Business Development will drive Spacelabs' long-term corporate and business unit strategy development efforts by facilitating the identification of growth drivers and challenges across the enterprise. The Senior Manager will work collaboratively with colleagues across the global strategy team and will have an emphasis on supporting our PMC and DC Business Verticals and enterprise strategy topics. The Senior Manager, reporting to the VP, Strategy & Business Development, will provide strategic thought partnership and project management on a broad range of topics affecting the Company, including analysis in support of new business initiatives (both organic and inorganic) and business-specific initiatives that seek to leverage the scale and depth of Spacelabs. The Senior Manager will independently lead Purchase Finished Goods (PFG) partnerships. The Senior Manager will lead program management for M&A activities with cross-functional and executive leadership team. It is essential that this person establishes rapport, clinical credibility, trust, and respect throughout the organization, be viewed as a team player, and can work effectively under pressure and with tight deadlines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 10+ years’ experience within critical care or diagnostic cardiology in a product management, business development or clinical provider capacity.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives, including executive leadership, to drive growth strategies, and business transformation.
  • Experience driving new device product adoption within critical care or diagnostic cardiology markets.
  • Excellent critical thinking for complex problem solving, creative solutioning, project management, data analytics, critical communication and presentation.
  • Understands nuances for healthcare markets, and product needs in core Spacelabs product lines and adjacencies.
  • Not afraid to 'roll your sleeves up' and work with details as well as the big picture.
  • High level of intellectual curiosity combined with a 'results-driven' mindset and high EQ.
  • Highly self-motivated with ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives.
  • Ability to network with senior leadership, market leaders, and senior executives both internally and externally.
  • Relevant healthcare, digital health and analytics industry experience strongly preferred.
  • Team player with leadership instincts.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software, with strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in multiple time zones.
  • Ability to travel <20%.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform deep competitive and market analysis for all key strategic and M&A. Use in-depth professional knowledge to draw key insights for complex healthcare projects with implications for execution, commercial as well as technical. Present findings and recommendations and drive action with all key stakeholders.
  • Identify, define, and articulate complex industry, market, and emerging trends and synthesize evaluation to recommend initiatives that take advantage of proposed opportunities or shore up risk mitigation strategies.
  • Size addressable market opportunity and growth potential and help convince leadership to fund key initiatives.
  • Evaluate white space opportunities for expansion and develop creative solutions to expanding Spacelabs’ market presence while driving synergies with existing businesses and capabilities.
  • Have a deep understanding of clinical use cases and workflow, potential for commercialization pathways and ability to capture clinical and economic ROI for new products or technologies globally within critical care and diagnostic cardiology.
  • Drive in-depth due diligence for all major markets from a full commercial standpoint, propose opportunities, organic and inorganic, and drive execution of approved recommendations - including market assessment, target segments, customer insights, technology assessment, product road mapping, competitive evaluation, payor context, sales channel, pricing and operating margins.
  • Independently network with executives from potential business development partners and drive strategic partnership discussions.
  • Independently lead PFGs and co-ordinate all activities from sourcing all the way through commercialization and business case realization.
  • Lead program management for all M&A diligence and acquisition activities, including business and functional diligence, data exchange, commercial deep dives, creation of historical and projected P&Ls, creation of pitch decks to executive leadership and OSI Board, negotiating purchase agreements, including deal structuring and successful close and KPI tracking.
  • Conduct rigorous financial analysis to assess and model business performance. Examples of analysis include:
  • P&L scenario modeling incorporating market dynamics and internal initiatives
  • Business case analysis and modeling
  • Help manage specific strategy initiatives across the company, and independently drive most business development activities, including sourcing, and negotiations.
  • Act as key liaison for relevant strategic initiatives, and develop and track implementation plans to ensure successful implementation.
  • Work on all special projects to evolve and enhance business strategy.
  • Familiarize yourself with the company's vision and mission, and act as an ambassador internally to all key stakeholders, and externally to all partners.
  • Working closely with staff across all departments to implement growth strategies and drive success.
  • Developing and implementing sales strategies, client service and retention plans, and analyzing sales data to inform or update marketing strategies for complex projects.
  • Draft business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference material, and other documents as required.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Identify new and relevant technologies and potential partners.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients.
