Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech We are searching for the best talent for a Sr. Manager, R&D Operations to support our Electrophysiology business. This role will be on site in our Irvine, CA office. Overview The Sr. Manager, R&D Operations serves as a strategic extension of the VP of R&D. This role oversees horizontal functions that support all project teams, including contracts, customer engagement coordination and user experience function. Additionally, this role will oversee strategic initiatives for R&D, material optimization program management, and compliance related needs.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in engineering, science, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in R&D, program management, quality, or operations within a regulated industry; medical device experience preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and program management
  • People leadership experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to leadership team
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, Word).

Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to leadership on strategic enabling activities and collaborator engagement.
  • Oversee R&D coordination for contracts and customer engagements, ensuring alignment between external commitments and internal delivery.
  • Lead program management for special projects for implementation of R&D
  • Oversee the Manager of User Experience, ensuring strategy and delivery are aligned with product roadmaps and R&D priorities
  • Promote continuous improvement through standardization of processes, tools, and best practices for R&D
  • Foster a culture of quality, accountability, and innovation within the development teams.
