Our tax team focuses on all aspects of tax reporting including enhancing productivity and efficiency of core compliance through process and technology, monitoring tax risk and opportunities across all tax disciplines, engaging and educating Finance and the broader organization regarding tax considerations, and prioritizing team resources to support key work streams. As a Senior Manager of Property Tax , you will lead the strategy, execution, and continuous improvement of the company’s real and personal property tax function. This includes oversight of compliance, valuation, appeals, planning, and financial reporting across a multi-state portfolio. You will be responsible for optimizing property tax expense through proactive assessment review, data-driven appeal strategies, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. In this role, you will partner closely with Real Estate, Finance, FP&A, Legal, and external advisors to influence property tax outcomes and ensure alignment with broader business objectives. You will drive process standardization, leverage technology and analytics to enhance decision-making, and ensure strong internal controls and SOX compliance over property tax processes. Additionally, you will lead, develop, and mentor team members while managing third-party relationships and ensuring consistent execution of property tax strategies across jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive property tax experience, including significant experience within a large corporate tax department or national consulting firm; retail or multi-location experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field; CMI, CPA, MST professional designations preferred
  • Deep knowledge of property tax compliance, valuation methodologies, and appeals processes across multiple jurisdictions
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP, including property tax accruals, forecasting, and financial statement impact
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to build, develop, and retain high-performing teams, including managing direct reports and external service providers
  • Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects, drive process improvements, and implement technology and data analytics solutions (e.g., Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, property tax systems)
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate property tax insights into actionable recommendations that reduce risk and optimize tax expense
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership and partnering cross-functionally
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity with sound judgment
