The Senior Project Manager for the Discover Debit and PULSE product portfolios is a strategic leader who supports business prioritization, governance, program delivery, compliance, and stakeholder collaboration. The role is critical in ensuring that product initiatives are aligned with business goals, delivered efficiently, and compliant with regulatory standards. General Responsibilities: Business Prioritization and Governance: The Senior Project Manager supports the monthly prioritization of Debit products, including Discover Debit, PULSE Debit, and PULSE Gateway Services. This involves reviewing and updating the business priority list to ensure alignment with PULSE goals and strategic objectives. They help manage product governance controls, oversee business case reviews, and ensure all product lifecycle approvals are collected and documented. This includes validating business cases, architectural designs, and testing for compliance and readiness. Program and Project Delivery: The Senior Project Manager drives the delivery of key initiatives, manages project portfolios, and coordinates cross-functional teams to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. They synthesize data from various sources to demonstrate the value of initiative delivery and maintain metrics for reporting. They oversee the product development lifecycle, ensuring alignment with business goals and leading teams to deliver innovative products. This includes managing dependencies, risks, and communications across product areas. Compliance, Risk, and Reporting: The role involves monitoring compliance, managing risks, and ensuring all deliverables meet regulatory and organizational standards. The Senior Project Manager actively escalates customer-impacting issues and maintains controls for incident and crisis management. They develop and maintain delivery metrics and analytics, automate data collection, and report progress to executive leadership. This supports transparency and informed decision-making. Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication: The Senior Project Manager will build cross functional relationships with key stakeholders, facilitate open collaboration, and communicate decisions and updates across teams. They ensure that all relevant documents and decisions are saved and accessible for audit and review. They implement change management processes for all initiatives and maintain enterprise and department-level controls.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Military experience
  • At least 8 Years of Project Management experience
  • At least 1 Year of People Management experience

Nice To Haves

  • Masters / MBA degree
  • At least 10 years of Project Management experience
  • At least 3 years of People Management experience
  • PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent problem solving and influencing skills
