About The Position

L3Harris Corporation is currently seeking a high-energy Principal Program Manager to lead and oversee a major product line primarily focused on production as well as lifecycle sustainment. In this role the candidate will be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance management of the program while achieving key business results (revenue recognition, operating income, free cash flow) and customer satisfaction. They will have experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) to the program. They demonstrate team building, leadership, and communication skills by building relationships of trust with their teams, customers, peers, and leadership, and to effectively communicate with confidence including regular presentations and status updates to leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 12 years of prior relevant experience
  • or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience,
  • Or, in lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
  • Experience managing software development programs
  • Active US DoD Secret Clearance
  • Experience with government contracting/manufacturing environment. Previous experience managing large, complex programs.
  • Strong understanding of Government contracting requirements and execution of contract types.
  • Experience with Earned Value management (EVM), Cost Performance Reports (CPR) as they relate to the WBS, schedule and cost plans.
  • Travel as required (Estimated 15%).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience leading development or production of cryptographic systems for type-1 encryption.
  • PMP Certification
  • Prior experience as a Program Manager to government customer

Responsibilities

  • Directs all phases of programs from inception through completion primary focused on high volume production.
  • Drives program execution in order to achieve key business and financial objectives for orders, revenue recognition, operating income, and free cash flow for new, continuing, or current programs
  • Responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.
  • Manages programs using Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Participates in the negotiation of contract and contract changes
  • Coordinates the preparation of proposals, business plans, performance Statement of Work (SOW) and specifications, operating budgets and financial terms/conditions of contract
  • Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, leading program review sessions with customers to discuss cost, schedule, and technical performance
  • Expand the product line with the customer. Establishes milestones and monitors adherence to master plans and schedules, identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocating resources or changing contractual specifications
  • Directs the work of employees assigned to the program from technical, manufacturing and administrative areas.
