About The Position

The Senior Manager, R&D Project Management, leads multiple teams and strategic initiatives focused on enhancing IT operations and advancing R&D project management practices. This role plays a critical part in shaping the company's innovation pipeline and aligning SaaSOPS efforts with long-term business strategy. The position requires strong cross-functional collaboration, global team leadership, and the ability to drive transformation across complex environments. Experience in IT Service Management (ITSM) or IT Operations Management (ITOM) is a significant plus, as our Helix platform operates within this domain. Familiarity with these sectors will enable deeper alignment with product strategy and customer needs. Here is how, through this exciting role, YOU will contribute to BMC's and your own success: Lead strategic planning and execution across multiple teams and projects Translate corporate strategy into actionable team goals and measurable outcomes Define and orchestrate strategic objectives to meet departmental priorities Delegate oversight of SaaSOPS projects, empowering team leads to manage operations Standardize procedures and enforce best practices to improve productivity and quality Oversee documentation and knowledge management practices for the PMO. Define and maintain governance structures for project approval, escalation, and reporting. Establish, maintain, & enforce project management standards, methodologies & best practices. Oversee the project portfolio, ensuring resource allocation aligns with strategic priorities. Produce regular consolidated updates to stakeholders on status, challenges & achievements. Integrate advanced technical practices while maintaining strategic oversight Resolve escalations and manage cross-team dependencies and conflicts Develop & manage budgets aligned with strategic initiatives, establish financial controls and optimize expenditures. Collaborate with HR to recruit and retain high-potential talent Foster a culture of continuous learning and career development Cultivate leadership capabilities among mid-level managers Coordinate efforts across departments to minimize disruption and maintain productivity Strategically engage stakeholders to align team efforts with broader organizational objectives Ensure all PMO practices adhere to regulatory and compliance frameworks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
  • 15+ years of professional experience with at least 5 years of managing and leading a team of project managers
  • Proven experience managing distributed and international teams
  • Strong leadership in project management methodologies adoption, digital transformation, and process reengineering
  • Skilled in handling tough conversations and leading through change
  • Demonstrated resilience and ability to foster team flexibility
  • Proficient in Jira, Confluence, MS Project
  • Strong data synthesis and decision-making skills
  • Effective coaching and mentoring abilities
