This role is an opportunity to lead a team of talented engineers and designers in the definition, integration, and validation of solutions that solve the unmet needs of airway management teams world-wide and ultimately improve patient outcomes. This position is responsible for developing systems for healthcare workers, specifically related to airway management in acute care settings such as Operation Room, Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. You will be at the junction of user experience and systems engineering, applying deep technical expertise to realize challenging design goals. The candidate will be responsible for leading a team of systems engineers and designers in the definition, development, and support of complex medical device systems used to support airway management and intubation. This is an onsite role located at our Lafayette, Colorado office. Functional Excellence: Manage a team who is accountable for ensuring the product delivers optimal value through its lifecycle by making informed tradeoffs, prioritizing features You and your team are responsible for refining the value proposition of a product Advocating for user-centric design principles and best practices within the organization. Manage a team creating user personas, conduct user research, and gather feedback throughout the design process. Manage a team who are responsible for synthesizing Voice of Customer and Experience inputs to understand and prioritize user needs, pain points and clinical workflow Advocate for the customer in the creation of the product scope, requirements and functionality Talent Development: Develop Systems & Design talent to be effective leaders, including how to best approach technical problem solving, best utilize soft skills, how best to communicate to peers and leaders, etc. Provide targeted opportunities to develop and stretch team members’ knowledge and capabilities. Recruit individuals whose skills will allow us to deliver products that meaningfully impact patient care Strategic Planning: Understand the R&D future portfolio and align talent to achieve goals. Advocates for tools, processes, and practices, and otherwise ways of doing product development that make work more efficient and effective. An “outside the box” thinker. Identify long-term opportunities that will continue to advance the systems & design function over a 3-5 year time horizon.
