The Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD) provides resourceful chemistry solutions for the pharmaceutical, agrochemical, diagnostic, detection, electronic, fuel cell, paints and coatings market. This team supports global customers from research and development through to manufacturing. The LCD organization is supported by more than 1400 employees globally across 7 locations. LCD is organized into two distinct business units that focus on delivering reagents to support chemical synthesis (Fine Chemical Products Business Unit) and chemical analysis and purification (Laboratory Analytical Reagents Business Unit). What will you do? The Senior Manager, PPI Business Systems (Site) leads the development and implementation of a comprehensive PPI strategy for a specific site within the Laboratory Chemicals Division (LCD). This role is crucial in fostering a continuous improvement culture and achieving aspirational growth through enhanced customer experience and operational excellence. As a key member of the site's leadership team, this role will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining positive relationships with both external and internal customers and key partners through impactful and customer-centric ways of working. The ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed organization and provide strategic direction will be critical to the success of the role and the site's performance within the Laboratory Chemicals Division. To excel in this role, you will have an extensive track record of delivering transformational change through continuous improvement (PPI) initiatives, coupled with strong leadership and mentoring skills. Equally vital will be your ability to think strategically and translate high-level strategies into actionable site-specific plans, combined with the expertise to drive business growth through targeted activity and team development. The successful candidate will have a proven history of using financial acumen to achieve positive outcomes and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, supply chain, operations, or business preferred; MBA or relevant advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in operations/manufacturing environments, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles.
  • Extensive track record of delivering large- scale continuous improvement initiatives and driving organizational change.
  • Advanced knowledge of lean methodologies, Six Sigma (Black Belt certification preferred), and other process improvement techniques.
  • Demonstrated ability to adopt AI and leverage cutting- edge technology to accelerate improvement and growth.
  • Proven strategic thinker able to connect high-level organizational goals to practical, site- level execution.
  • Solid financial acumen, commercial awareness, and business knowledge to prioritize initiatives and quantify impact at a site and divisional level.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute site-specific PPI strategies aligned with divisional and corporate objectives, ensuring local implementation of global initiatives.
  • Design, deploy, and sustain advanced lean methodologies, tailoring approaches to site-specific needs and challenges.
  • Develop metrics that provide data for process measurement, identifying indicators for future improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business strategies into clear operational roadmaps, KPIs, and implementation plans that drive growth, productivity, and quality for the site.
  • Spearhead cross-functional collaboration to streamline end-to-end processes, optimize handoffs, and significantly reduce waste and variation.
  • Lead cultural change initiatives by modeling desired behaviors, building engagement, and reinforcing accountability through innovative routines and recognition programs.
  • Implement and evolve the site's performance management framework, ensuring alignment with divisional and company goals while adapting to local needs.
  • Drive site productivity targets through advanced problem-solving techniques, value stream improvements, and strategic digital enablement initiatives.
  • Provide consultation on the use of re-engineering techniques to improve process performance and product quality.
  • Perform cost and benefit analyses to prioritize improvement initiatives and quantify their impact.
